A Texan by birth, Les grew up in Mt. Vernon, close to Lake Cypress Springs in Northeast Texas. After graduating from Baylor University with a degree in Real Estate, he continued in his father’s footsteps and pursued his true passion of building homes.

His very first homes were renovations in the area of Royal Lane and Webb’s Chapel. Eventually, Les expanded into Briarwood, Devonshire, and Preston Hollow with large new construction projects. Les and his wife Kristi, along with their two young sons, call Devonshire home. He has built more new homes in Devonshire than any other Dallas builder to date.

We asked Les what people who build new homes or renovate in Devonshire/Bluffview look for in build/renovation sites?

“I really bring a lot of knowledge regarding lot sales and values as well as insight into what can be done with each particular build site,” he says. “Very quickly I can determine if a lot will work for a particular client’s needs; whether it is a large backyard, outdoor living and pool area, downstairs master suite or the ultimate lock and leave empty nester property. I am very experienced in finding my clients the perfect build sites.”

If Les takes a home renovation on in this area, he works with the clients to take everything out to the studs in the existing home, and usually add on..

“Owners want it all to look seamless, all on the same level, no step ups or down,” he says. “I specialize in a harmonious look on all renovations so when you see the finished product, you don’t know where old ends and new starts.”

Any problems in this neighborhood to watch for?

“Always make sure you are talking to experienced builders and contractors,” says Les. “Ask a contractor, what were you doing 4 or 5 years ago? If they were working through the real estate bust, that’s a good sign.”
